Dutch ovens have been around for literally centuries and real Dutch oven aficionados say that any modification to the original cast iron Dutch oven makes dishes which aren’t real Dutch ovens. They do not approve of aluminum Dutch ovens (although they are easier to carry, some say it gives sort of a chalky taste to the food, and let’s not forget the fact that aluminum is unhealthy), they do not like Dutch ovens which have a coating made of enamel. They are totally pro cast iron Dutch ovens, and seen as these guys have been around for so long, I must agree with them.

Cupcakes began in early 19th century America and were unique to baking at that time due in part to the fact that they required cups of ingredients rather than weights. It is also said that during this time, ‘gem pans’ were popular for baking small cakes, and that sometimes a cupcake, before they were known as such, was baked in a small cup, such as a teacup, also to save time in the kitchen. Traditional cakes of long ago were very large and it was common to burn them due to uneven heating in hearth ovens. Baking in small pans, containers, and cups, helped reduce the risk of burning. It is possible the name, ‘cupcakes’ originated from the small containers in which they were baked rather than the way the ingredients were measured.

One would have to admit that the countertop is very crucial when creating and constructing a kitchen. Spending a lot of money on cabinet design and materials could be for naught of it was all topped up with a low quality countertop.
When choosing countertops, the initial thing that comes to mind would typically be the material type. Huge spenders would have access to top end materials for example pure marble or granite countertops while those on a much more modest budget would most likely spend a reasonable amount on solid surfaces like corian or perhaps even laminates like Formica.
