Your Questions About Southern Recipes Blog

Steven asks…

When Gov. Jan Brewer meets with Pres. Obama today, will she discuss the type of lawyers she hired…….?

…..to draft the Immigration Law SB1070? What do you think Obama’s response would be if he’s not already aware of this?

Hate Group Lawyer Drafted Arizona’s Anti-Immigrant Law

Arizona’s controversial anti-immigrant law was written by a lawyer at the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which the Southern Poverty Law Center has listed as an anti-immigrant hate group since 2007. The law, a recipe for racial profiling, would make the failure to carry immigration documents a crime and give the police broad power to detain anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. Your Questions About Down Home Cooking

George asks…

where on line can you find real down home cooking recipes that don’t call for off the wall wild stuff?

Herschel Lawhorn answers:

TasteOfHome.com has real home cooking recipes. I normally have the ingredients for items in their recipes that appeal to me.

I used this site to find a recipe for Raisin Sauce for our ham yesterday and I used it last week looking for a different cheesecake recipe.

Your Questions About Southern Recipes Paula Deen

Jenny asks…

Regarding Food Network personality Paula Deen: Does her incredibly thick Southern drawl kinda BUG YOU?

I come from the Southwest but have lived all over the U.S., so I am accustomed to many different accents and am not particularly judgemental about the way people talk.

But people in the North sometimes make fun of people from the South with thick accents…and visa versa.

If you watch The Food Network, you may know who Paula Deen is. She specializes in southern cooking, hailing from Georgia. Here’s her link:
